TRAFFIC INCIDENT MANAGEMENT

Scene safety is paramount on roadway accidents. Highways and roads can be a dangerous place with numerous hazards that emergency personnel need to be aware of. With distracted driving on the increase, driving too fast and unfavorable road conditions, safety is becoming something that requires a lot more training and practice.

The goals of this program include training and following "Safe work procedures" as they are vital to protecting our lives at traffic incidents. Safe work procedures can reduce firefighter/responder deaths and injuries while operating at roadway incidents. Emergency services across North America have been working to develop a unified traffic control plan.
