EMBANKMENT RESCUE
ABOUT THE COURSE
This 20-hour program was developed for Fire/Rescue agencies who, in the course of their duties, may be called to an incident involving a rescue from an embankment situation, such as motor vehicle incidents, ATVs, snowmobile, hiking or other sport related incidents.
This course will cover the Federal and Provincial Occupational Health Regulations pertaining to Technical Rope Rescue (embankment situations) (NFPA, ANSI). Describe and demonstrate the proper use of equipment required to perform embankment rescue safely for the both the rescuer and victim(s) including patient packaging and immobilization using spine board, SKED and c-spine immobilization.
